Robotic Rabbis: AI-written Sermons Shake Up Jewish Community

Are robotic rabbis the next step?

New York Senior Rabbi Josh Franklin of the Jewish Center of the Hamptons surprised his congregation this week with a sermon that was written by Artificial Intelligence.

The rabbi was using the ChatGPT bot, an AI program that is available for free and launched in November last year.

Rabbi Franklin then asked his congregation, after reading the AI-written article, to guess the author of the sermon. The congregation responded by incorrectly guessing that Rabbi Jonathan Sacks wrote the piece.
