Robots revolutionize strawberry harvesting in California as a solution to drought and labor shortage

Robots pick strawberries for Californians in the face of drought and labor shortage

California produces 90% of all strawberries in the United States, but a severe drought and a shortage of workers are threatening this fruit. Robots could be the answer for one company.

Eric Adamson is the man behind the strawberry robotic revolution. He said that they are programmed to be autonomous, using cameras that can sense texture and colour.

Adamson stated that people think robots are old, but in fact they’re very, very modern, particularly robots which make decisions on their own and are autonomous.
