AI can be used to improve cancer detection and gut health

Medical Frontiers – Japan Live & Programs: AI for Cancer Detection

Colon cancer is second in terms of mortality among cancers in the United States. It is important to detect polyps early, but it is not easy to diagnose them. To combat the problem, two AI-powered endoscopes were developed in Japan. One endoscope can determine the malignancy of a lesion in just 0.4 seconds with almost 100% accuracy. One shows lesions, even those that are not distinct, during an examination, similar to a navigation system in a car. We introduce Japanese fermented foods that are good for the gut and explain how to eat them.
