Amnesty uses AI to create images of Colombian protests and draws criticism
The Colombian protests started on April 28th, 2021. They were sparked by an anti-tax reform by middle and working class Colombians.
Amnesty International’s use of AI-generated images to commemorate Colombian protests on the second anniversary has ignited a debate about the credibility of advocacy organizations and media in their coverage of conflict-affected zones.
Amnesty Norway’s regional account tweeted three images. The first image showed a group of police officers in armor; the second was a policeman with a red stain on his face and the third image showed a protester who was being dragged by police officials.
