Andromeda: The AI Supercomputer with 13.5 million Cores built in 3 Days

This AI supercomputer has 13.5 million cores and was built in just three days

All this was still theoretical at the time. Last week, however, the company revealed that they had linked 16 CS-2s into a supercomputer with world-class AI.

Meet Andromeda

Andromeda is a new supercomputer with 13.5 million cores that can perform over an exaflop (1 quintillion operations in a second) using 16-bit, half precision. Andromeda’s unique chip makes it difficult to compare to supercomputers that use more traditional CPUs or GPUs. However, Feldman told HPC wire Andromeda’s performance is comparable to Argonne’s Polaris, the 17th fastest supercomputer in the world according to the Top500 list.
