Machine learning unlocks visualization of proteins in five dimensions

Machine learning creates 5D pictures of proteins
The journal Optics Express published their research on September 26.

These five dimensions are not new or hidden dimensions. Tingting Wu’s team, led by a Ph.D. candidate in McKelvey School of Engineering imaging sciences, designed a system to tell the position of a molecule both in 2D and 3D. Five parameters were derived from a noisy, pixelated picture.
