White House announces a ‘Bill of Rights for Artificial Intelligence’
The Biden Administration unveiled Tuesday a series of ambitious goals aimed at preventing harm caused by artificial intelligence systems. These include guidelines on how to protect personal data of people and limit surveillance.
Officials said that the Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights does not include specific enforcement actions. Instead, it is intended to be a White House call-to-action for the U.S. Government to safeguard civil and digital rights in an AI fueled world.
Alondra Nelson is deputy director of science and society in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She said, \”This is Biden-Harris saying that we must work together to put equity and civil rights front and center of how we use and govern technology.\” \”We should demand and expect more from our technology.\”
